How to get there:
From Sligo Town take the N4 . At Carraroe roundabout, take the R287 towards Dromahair. After approximatly 2.5 km, you rach Lough Gill lake shore. The road follows the shore, approximatly 1.5 km onwards, the forest is at your left and is signposted. Facilities: Ample car park area Picnic area with BBQ facility Landscape: Mature conifers and broadleaf species. Dooney rock has a viewing point on top of the rock giving some fantastic views across Lough Gill. The area was made famous by poet WB Yeats. Walks/trails: |
