How to get there:
Take the N16 from Sligo. At the traffic lights past the hospital, take the R286 to Dromahair. After approximatly 500 mtr from this junction take minor road to Calry . Site is approx 5 km from this turn. You will have to pass Calry church, the forest is then approximatly 1 km after the church on your right. Facilities: Ample car park area Picnic area Landscape: Mature conifers.Fantastic views towards Sligo town & Knocknarea. The main interesting point is the presence of a court tomb. The court tomb is called such a way as the burial chambers opened off a semi-circular or oval court, usually at the front of the monument. The court was usually used as a site for rituals linked to the burials. The deerpark court tomb is unusual as the court is in the middle rather than at the front.
