Owned by David O'Connor, and experienced sailor who has raced yachts in New Zealand with an ex-Volvo Ocean race watch-leader and has numerous trans-oceanic voyages in the Atlantic and Pacific under his belt, David loves nothing more than share his skills , experience and passion with his students. And this passion is reflected in the following courses Wild West Sailing offers to budding and experienced sailors: Beginners courses: ( Beginners Adult Sailing Courses | Wild West Sailing ) To enjoy the beginners courses, you don't require any sailing experience. Just enjoy the craic with the crew and soak up the views of Benbulben and the Ox Mountains on these 1 day or 2 day courses. On these courses, they also cater for improvers who want to progress their helming, boat handling, sail handling and command skills. Day Skipper courses ( Day Skipper Intermediate Courses | Wild West Sailing ) With expert instructors leading the way, you’ll navigate the pristine waters of the Atlantic, charting a course through the captivating landscapes and hidden gems of the Aran Island archipelago and Connemara. On these 5-day Day Skipper courses, each day presents itself with new challenges and opportunities that allow you to refine your sailing skills. Yachtmaster courses (Advanced RYA Yachtmaster Courses | Wild West Sailing ) Prepare for maritime mastery with Wild West Sailing’s RYA Yachtmaster Prep Week & Exam. Dive into a week of intense, professional instruction designed to elevate your sailing skills to the highest level. Led by experienced instructors, this comprehensive program combines hands-on training with theoretical knowledge, ensuring you’re fully equipped for the challenges of the Yachtmaster exam. But that's not all, at Wild West Sailing, they offer you RYA navigation courses and voyages as well. Where the navigation courses let you gain the skills and knowledge needed to confidently navigate coastal waters and beyond, the voyages allow you to experience the adrenaline-fueled thrill of offshore sailing on a high-performance race yacht. |

Meet the fleetThe Wild West Sailing training fleet is made up of a large variety of boats, from agile J24's to an ocean worthy Reflex 38 and Beneteau Oceanis 37.3, the fleet is equiped with both modern technology and safety features to provide you with a safe learning experience.
