Located in the beautiful seaside town of Strandhill, Strandhill Surf School are located in a great premise right at the beachfront providing you with easy access to the stunning beach famous for its year-long waves. Strandhill Surf School sets itself apart by their professional approach to all the lessons on offer. These range from lessons for individuals, small and large groups, special occasions and summer camps. All the instructors at Strandhill Surf School are fully qualified Surf Instructors and Beach Lifeguards with valuable local knowledge of the beach conditions. The head instructors, who have been at the surf school for a number of years, have extensive experience and give valuable tuition and encouragement. New instructors are recruited and selected on the basis of their enthusiasm as well as surfing experience, creating a fun environment for individuals, groups and especially for their popular Children’s Summer Camps. Upon arrival, you check in and meet the instructors who will give you all the gear needed to enjoy those Wild Atlantic waves. The surfing gear on offer includes a beginners foam board that is ideal for learning, a warm wetsuit and boots. In cold conditions, wetsuit gloves and hoods are also available. The wetsuits are restocked every year and are thoroughly washed and dried after every lesson. Also on offer are a range of intermediate surf boards available for more experienced surfers . After changing in your provided wetsuits in the changing facilities (toilets and showers available), it's a short walk to the beach where the lesson begins. With experienced instructors on hand, you'll be guaranteed the best spot on the beach. But don't worry if the waves don't make an appearance, Strandhill Surf School have recently introduced Stand Up paddleboarding which provides a fun option when the conditions are calm and suitable. Safety is taken very serious at Strandhill Surf School. They are fully Irish Surfing Association (ISA) approved meaning they meet the high standards set by the governing body. An additional safety feature offered by the school is that instructors stay in communication with the office through walkie-talkies ensuring a safer environment for your lesson. Summer campsRun during the school holidays, Summer Camps are a great week of surfing from 9am to 12pm, Monday to Friday. There are two age groups: 9-12yrs and 13-16yrs.
