Description
Sooey is a small village with only a few houses. it is located on the R284 between the villages of Ballygawley and Geevagh. Although there are no shops in the village, there is a church, primary school and community hall. Coola post primary school is located just outside the village.
Right beside the church is a fabulous playground with a little river running in front of it.

Sooey can be reached from Sligo by bus 572 (Sligo to Ballinamore). With a regular service, the route is serviced by TFI Local Link.

Sooey Playground
Sooey Forge & Dwelling

The old forge and dwelling was built around circa 1880. Originally used as a forge or blacksmith shop, it later was used as a spirit merchant known as P Breheny.

For the community

Sooey National School provides education to the wider community around Sooey. With more than 100 pupils, the school has grown into a large national school.

Sooey Community Hall is used for many different events ranging from the school Christmas plays to the yoga and gym classes.

Sooey Creche is called Jollytots. At Jollytots, offer eight services, breakfast club, wobbler group, toddler group, playschool, montessori pre-school, junior afterschool club, senior afterschool club and an out of school care programme.
