Enniscrone walking club
The club was formed in November 2010 by a group of like minded people who enjoy the outdoors, walking in the hills and mountains as well as some easy tracks and roads.
They try to incorporate walks of all grades and you will definitely find something to suit your level of fitness. They promote walks in Sligo and Mayo as Enniscrone is almost on the border of the 2 counties. They meet every Saturday before 9.30am at the tourist office. Visitors to Enniscrone are welcome to join. |
Sligo walking club
Sligo Walking Club was formed in 2009 by a group of local people who were eager to do 2-3 hour walks in the wonderful local countryside, without over-taxing themselves, while enjoying the company of other like-minded people. They do coastal, woodlands and occasional hill walks at a reasonably leisurely pace in Sligo and the surrounding areas, all the year round.
They walk on the 2nd. and 4th. Saturday of each month, leaving from the car park of the Institute of Technology, Sligo at 10.00 a.m.. From time to time, usually on the 3rd. Saturday of the month, those who like the challenge do additional walks of greater length, sometimes involving going into the hills of the region: however, still maintaining a reasonably leisurely pace! The club has grown in strength and has now over 130 members of a wide range of ages and fitness levels. |
