Lissadell House & Gardens
Lissadell House is famous as the childhood home of Constance Markievicz, one of the leaders of the 1916 rising. The house has now lovingly been restored by it's current owners and has a fabulous tearoom, gardens and exhibitions.
While walking through the alpine garden, kitchen garden or the grounds, it is not hard to see why the location was chosen to built this stately home. Opening times: Lissadell will be open to the public for the months of June, July and August, Wednesdays through to Sundays (10.30am to 6pm) First guided tour of the house is at 11am, and tours continue at 12noon, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30pm |
