Take a stroll through the park
Ballymote Park
Description:
Ballymote Park is a great park to spend an afternoon with the kids. From the large playground to the fairy garden, it is a fun place to be. At the entrance to the park is the US Civil War Monument which contains a steel beam from the twin towers. Within the park is also a statue dedicated to Brother Walfrid who was born in Ballymote and is best remembered for being founder of Scottish football club Celtic. |
Doorley Park
Description:
Doorley Park is located along the banks of the Garavogue river. There are fabulous walks along the river, and we would recommend walking through Doorley Park around dusk on a summer's evening where 100's of baths fly above the river. In the summer, admire the waterlilies floating on top of the water or the rowing club practising. |
Mitchell Curley Park
Description:
Mitchell Curley Park is a 12 acres park located on the edge of Sligo town. The park includes 3 pitches, a toddler and children's playground, a teenage multisport area and a 1.8 km walking track. |
Peace Park
Description:
The peace park is a small park located in Sligo town right beside Sligo cathedral. It is also the venue for Parkfest, a fun day of activities put together as part of the Cairde arts festival. It is peaceful in the park, mainly because it is fully surrounded by a wall keeping out the traffic noise. |
