Glenwood Forest Walk

Glenwood Forest Walk

Back to WALKING routes

Description:

The Glenwood forest walk is part of the Sligo Way. Glenwood forest is mainly made up from broadleaf trees. Climbing higher, the forestry makes place for conifers.

The walk  starts of from the carpark with a good few steep steps, hence this part of the walk is not suitable for prams. You can follow the main road though from the car park and turn left at the first gate, this allows you to avoid the steep steps.

The walk is all on forest road and crosses a small stream at it's lowest point.
Take note that the walk is lineair and that the same section needs to be walked back to the carpark. It opens up different views though towards Ballysodare bay and Knocknarea.
