The Spanish Armada festival
On September of 1588, 3 Spanish Aramda ships sank at Streedagh beach in Sligo . The annual Spanish Armada festival remembers the loss of over 1100 Spanish lives during that faithful night. This year's calendar is full of events for the whole family, ranging from a run/walk to an environmental talk at Streedagh beach to the highly anticipated main event which sees the Dartry Ceili band taking the stage.

Sligo Baroque music festival
The twenty-seventh annual Sligo Baroque Music festival will run in Sligo from the 23rd to 25th of September '22.
This year's programme is devised around the theme of the elements of nature.
The festival features the Swiss-based ensemble A Corte Musical who have recorded several award-winning CDs.
A Corte will present 2 concerts - Il Canto Della Sirena and Mediterranea.
Other events range from The Geminiani Ensemble with French Baroque Sonatas to a free open air performance of Handel's Water music suite.

It is worthwhile sampling their own Thomas Connolly IPA and Red Ale which both come on draught.
And that's not all, with a range of European red, white, rose & prosecco wines by the glass or the bottle , there is plenty to choose from.
They believe in choice and so gluten-free and non alcoholic drinks are well stocked. Don't feel like an alcoholic beverage? They will happily prepare a fresh ground or speciality coffee of your choice.

Sligo Rivers Trust Information evening
This year will see the 10th anniversary of the Sligo summer festival. And the festival promises to be extra special kicking off with our own Kieran Quinn.
Friday will see the brilliant Dec Pierce on stage, and sure he will get everybody dancing. Saturday will kick-off with family fun day followed by Nathan Carter
