Description
Coolaney is a small village located at the foot of the Ox Mountains. Home to the Coolaney National Mountain Bike Centre, it's a paradise for mountain bikers. Within the village is a beautiful short walk along the Owenbeg river. The remains of an old mill are located along the riverside walk, and the remains of the sluices under the mill can still be clearly seen, as well as the outfalls into the nearby river.
Within the village is a great community park with a cafe, playground and sport fields .

Coolaney River Walk
Coolaney river walk is a beautiful walk in the small village of Coolaney. Coolaney has won many times the title of "tidiest town in County Sligo", and it isn't hard to see why. From the well kept houses to clean streets, Coolaney is a quiet town which sits at the foot of the beautiful Ox Mountains.
The signposted walk (also known as the Riparian Way) starts nearby the River Inn pub in the village. The path follows the banks of the Owenboy river which has its source in the Ox Mountains.

The Sligo Camino
Every July, more than 1000 walkers decent on Coolaney to participate in the Sligo Camino. The Camino follows the Sligo Way through some of the finest scenery in the country. The route is a challenging mixture of tracks, trails, forest paths and country lanes.

Coolaney Mountainbike Centre
Coolaney MTB Trail network is a purposed built singletrack forest roads and trails network designed for mountain bikes.
Follow the waymarked circular routes through the Ox Mountains. Enjoy a thrilling ride through forests, along heathland and admire the amazing views across Sligo bay. The trails range from blue grade to black grade and there is plenty of choice for beginner and experienced mountain bikers |
